Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's government is desperate and abusive
The Islam Hadhari government of the mentally-challenged Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has done it again. Private TV stations in Malaysia were told not to broadcast any news related to the opposition parties.
It's an open secret that the cruel government issues directives to state-owned television and radio stations to isolate the opposition from the people. But now, private stations also receive similar directives.
A letter from the Malaysian government ordering all private TV and radio stations to stop airing speeches by opposition leaders (source: http://www.malaysiakini.com/)
“The government has noted that several private TV and radio stations have been airing speeches by opposition party leaders,” wrote the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman Dr. Halim Shafie in the letter. “Your station is requested not to broadcast such speeches in the future”.
Now that's a very "responsible", desperate and abusive government.
